Many Adobe applications depend on the Oracle Java Runtime Environment (JRE) for some features to work. WARNING: These older versions of the JRE and JDK are provided to help. The JDK includes tools useful for developing and testing programs written in the Java programming language and running on the Java TM platform. The JDK is a development environment for building applications using the Java programming language. I tried to install it but I get the message Java for OS X can't be installed because a newer version is already installed. I want to open my Adobe Programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.) on my new Mac running OS 10.11.4 and when I go to open it I get the message To open 'Photoshop CS5.1' you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime.
